My newest client is already married, although she keeps referring to her husband as “my fiance” everytime we talk, because it is so novel. How fun, to be so new to marriage! Simone’s wedding was peacock inspired, and I got pretty excited when I heard this, because I had recently bought a peacock stamp, and some really cool paper. It is a theme I have been wanting to play around with for a few weeks now.

Simone needed thank you cards. She wanted simpler cards for her guests, and spectacular cards for her bridal party. These are the designs I came up with. I love the idea of still being involved, even if it is after the big day.

These next samples will be at Elegance, once I have completed my portfolio – hopefully today. I have a new menu stamp that I simply adore. I think menus at each setting are so classy!

I have been working really hard to create exceptional samples for my portfolio album that is going in to Elegance.  Not to say that I don’t love all of my invitations, but they don’t normally take me an entire day to make three of them.  Stamping with vellum is frustrating.  I would stamp it, emboss it, and attempt to glue it to the wording, only to realise ink got smudged when I did that.  I had been so careful!  I am a perfectionist, so I would repeat – only to mess up on the last step, again.  It is hard to express how difficult these are to make sometimes – not because I do not know what I am doing, but because I do care so much about every. little. detail.

thank you

The next card is one of my favorites.  I love this color combination – I first heard it mentioned when a girl told me she wanted purple, silver and black for a midnight wedding.  How cool is that!

platinum, purple monogram

This was the time consuming one.  If you have talked weddings with me, then you know about my love affair with Crane & co. paper.  Which is what this blush paper is.  Heavy, heavy cardstock makes it less adaptable to projects then most papers – but I love that Crane & co.  is 100% cotton.  It feels luxurious to the touch, and I love to work with it.  Double sided satin, embossed chandelier – this card is romantic and elegant without being ostentatious.

Pardon the color on this – I am a invitationer first, and a photographer second.  Second?  Twentieth?  I’m not sure where the use of a camera falls on my range of abilities, I’m sure it is somewhere after making a pot of spaghetti, and tucking kids in to bed….  Anyways, the room is actually less yellow, and more limey…

I love my studio.  The color is fresh, the style is somewhat vintage, somewhat shabby chic and all me.  I find the lime green to be energizing, and I love having people in my space.  I want it to feel like it is your space too.  Come join me in Corunna, where we can collaborate on the perfect custom invitations for your day.

I had a really productive day stamping yesterday.  By productive I mean I made exactly three cards.  The last one took me over three hours to design.  This hot pink invitation was inspired by the cool shiny frame I created, coupled with a sexy and dramatic colour.  I wanted the colours to do most of the work, and not the stamping.

And my evenings’ work:

I was inspired by the cover of the new WedLuxe magazine that I picked up in London on Monday.  Soft blue gray, a hint of pink, and lots of creamy ivory combined with sparkle and elegance make for a stunning combination.  Inspiration comes from many sources, does it not?  I was trying different things with the stamps, and different styles for the invitation.  Everyone loves pocketfold invitations, but I thought they might be stunning if you could not see the RSVP cards…

This particular style of invitation has generated more interest than any other.  I think every girl knows her wedding day is that special day when she truly is a princess.  We all buy in to the magic of the day, for good reason…  True love, beauty, flowers, great food, laughter, friendships…  the day is full of the best things of life.  With that in mind, I choose to change up one of my favorite invitations, by stamping on the photograph, and making the bride and groom the focus…  The first page can now include a story about how you met, how you fell in love, how he proposed….  Start the day off months in advance with the perfect custom invitation that is uniquely yours….
