When it came time to design my first seating chart, my initial thought of course was to do it out of paper. Because I do paper. But the ideas that Jenny had were just too complicated to get out that way, and I changed directions. So, instead of printing all the table numbers out, and assembling them on a large sheet of matting, I went the route of producing the chart as a photograph. Using a company in London that caters to professional photographers, the quality of the image is wonderful, and the options for your chart is pretty much open ended.
When it came time to do Chris and Lisa’s chart there was a lot of stressing. They bounced around a few ideas, and really didn’t know if they wanted the focus of the chart to be a large photo of them. But, Chris and Lisa have an incredible sense of humour as a couple. So naturally the photo they ultimately chose to blow up to larger-than-life is one of Chris giving Lisa a wet-willy. I LOVE it. I think the seating chart is a wonderful part of the wedding to express your individuality as a couple….
The photo was taken by my favourite photographer – the ever talented, forever willing to help a friend out Jer Wilcocks. I can’t say enough good things about this guy, or his ability behind the lens. Jer is meticulous, and conscious of what needs to happen to take the perfect shot. Add the fact that he is personable, and laid back, and you have the recipe for indelible wedding day images.
The shot was taken in Maryanne’s Shoppe. Elegance Bridal is located at 148 Front St in Sarnia and is one of the most delightful places to visit. And work at – since I now help out on Wednesdays. Maryanne is an amazing woman. Always accommodating, friendly, and eager to help a bride’s vision come to life; being with her brings joy to my day. She is one of those people who has the gift of bringing a calm to wherever she is. Perfect, if you’re a bride in need of a planner…
Seating chart are $125, and include the rental of the easel and frame (30 inches by 40 inches), as well as the photograph – which is yours to keep after if you choose.
