Leah and Duncan are an incredibly sweet couple, and clearly adore each other. Leah laughs easily, smiles often, and was a really easy-going client to work with. She gave me free reign with her programs, which made them a lot of fun to design. I love, love clients that trust me implicitly.
Her e-shoot pictures, taken by Jer Wilcocks, were amazing, and they were incorporated into her table numbers, and seating chart….
Congratulations Leah and Duncan!
Heather came to me needing SO many different projects done. With 150 guests coming to her wedding at the Sawmill Creek this past weekend, she wanted all of them to feel special with all the little details. So this past week I created a seating chart, and table numbers, place cards, programs, menus and an extra special project.
Heather’s photographer is the incredibly talented, wonderfully sweet Stephanie. It was important to Heather to include as many of the photos from her engagement shoot as possible, so we used a different image under each of the table numbers on the seating chart, and used a co-ordinating image for each of the table cards on the tables.

Heather is planning on mailing out her thank you cards from Paris (ahhhh!!!!! So romantic!!!)

Because Heather and Ken were married outdoors, she wanted to create fan programs, to ensure her guests were comfortable.

This was one of my favourite projects to date. Heather was willing to share her story of how she met Ken, and fell in love. It was incredibly sweet, and I created a 5 by 7 card for each guest, using one of Heather and Ken’s e-shoot photos. I know her guests loved this personal touch!

I LOVE SEATING CHARTS! I never thought I would get to this point. But, collaborating with photographers and brides to pick just the right photo from their e-shoot, and then mapping out the text and choosing fonts is actually a really rewarding process. I put a fair amount of thought into my font pics – because I think fonts have personality (yup, I’m a nerd), and so do couples. I think something like your seating chart can and should be as tailored to you as possible.
I love getting the charts home, and unrolling them for the first time – there is a big difference between seeing them on my laptop screen, and bringing home the 2.5 by 3.5 foot photo. I love that every bride says “It’s bigger than I expected!!” It’s hard to visualize until it’s in front of you – and what is great is I typically use a font size of 30 or 36 pt for most of the text – so names are legible for your guests, without being obnoxiously large.
Engagement shot on the chart is by Ryan Farr.
Ryan also got some shots of Whitney’s table numbers at the wedding:
