After waiting months for the right time to bring my second press home, she’s finally sitting where she’s going to stay.  We bought Liberty off of a retired gentleman who clearly loves his presses. It’s wonderful to have a press that has been used even the last few weeks. The TLC that Freedom needed because she was sitting for a dozen years is just not there with this second purchase.

Liberty is a Kluge, made shortly after WWII. The chase size (what the type sits in) is 10 by 15 inches. Which is slightly smaller than our C&P Freedom, which has a 12 by 18 chase. The really, really wonderful thing about our new press is that it automatically feeds paper. No more standing over the press, running the risk of cutting off my fingers if my timing is off… That’s a good thing….

I simply can not wait to get going on our new press. I have some really exciting clients lined up for the fall, and I can not wait to introduce South Western Ontario to letterpress.

Liberty coming off the truck.

Thank goodness Brad has friends with pallet movers…

First location. But because of the motor, Liberty takes up more room. So we switched where the presses are located…

Isn’t she pretty??? I love it. The smell, the feel… I get goosebumps just looking at her (yup, I’m a nerd. And I’m okay with that…)

We have a very full garage now!!! Wait till we get a hydraulic paper cutter….
