It’s amazing, really, how much easier these moves get as we keep doing them. Moving my C&P seemed pretty stressful (mind you, it was on the second floor of a museum), and the Kluge made the trek from Detroit in the rain. But shipping my new (not new, new to me) Heidelberg and cutter from Toronto was virtually no work for Brad and I. The guy we purchased both from took care of the loading and shipping – and our neighbour and friend Ray, from Corunna Tree Service, helped us with a forklift. I don’t think the whole process took us more than 45 minutes.
I now own three letterpresses. And a paper cutter with a throat of 30.5 inches. Besides being able to quickly and effectively cut without having to drive anywhere to do so, I can now order full size sheets of paper and cut them down. I’m excited.
The Heidelberg gave me goosebumps coming off the truck – I’m a total nerd. Heidelbergs are an impressive machine – I love the sound they make, the smell, the look of them… I can’t wait to start using my new toys!!
