I LOVE working with other vendors in the wedding industry. So, when Ryan asked me to design invitations for his open house, it was an easy yes. So was creating menus, place cards and table numbers for the table mock ups he had. Ryan’s work is always classy, sophisticated, and specific to each client.

My favourite concept was creating the candle place cards. A shout out to Brent Foster whose name I borrowed – another great talent in the local industry! The exceptionally beautiful cake, and delicious cupcakes were created by Amy of Bake Me a Cake - so, so tasty!!

I LOVE the wedding industry. I can’t get enough of it; which honestly has surprised me. I have helped at a bridal shop last summer. And been a photographer’s assistant a few times. I’ve helped a planner at a wedding, and gone to as many get-togethers for wedding professionals as I can make time to attend in southwestern Ontario. And one of the absolute perks in all of this has been the friendships I have developed with other vendors.

Jenn of Blue Iris Photography in London is one cool chica. We have tattoos in common. She has a bright, funky soul, and is a great photographer. And she shares my passion for business cards. I love working for other vendors in the industry – there’s a real joy in being trusted with your peers’ projects.

Jenn’s letterpress business cards were created on a 4 ply ragboard – they are T H I C K. Like, coffee coaster thick. And square. I love squares (doesn’t everyone have a favourite shape??) Her logo is simple. Which is also good – it screams sophistication, and elegance, and modernity. Love it.

Jenn is pleased with them too: “Can I tell you again how much I love my new business cards? I can’t stop holding them. They feel so good! You are amazing! You did such a fantastic job!” I {heart} happy clients!

“A sister can be seen as someone who is both ourselves and very much not ourselves – a special kind of double.”

Laurel and I are close. That is to say, I love her better than pretty much everybody on this planet. She is strong, and wise. She is practical, and matter-of-fact. She says what she thinks, and doesn’t apologize for it…. She’s a lot of things I am not. But, she gets me. She offers me a very practical approach to my problems, and we enjoy a friendship that involves never having to apologize for the day we’re having or the mood we are in. She listens well. She adores my children. She is one of the greatest blessings in my life, and I am so glad we enjoy one of those sisterly friendships that most people seem to deny is possible…
So, to say I was excited when my sister told me she was expecting is an understatement. Rejoicing with her in this pregnancy has been one of the greatest experiences of my life – all the enthusiasm that I had for my own, but none of the morning sickness.  I can not wait to meet baby Esser.

Designing Laurel’s shower invites was a pleasure.  I knew we wanted something sweet, but not in typical baby colors.  And generic, because even though the midwives know whether Baby is a boy or girl, Laurel and Leland did not want to find out.  (Torture!!) Congratulations Leland and Laurel, I can not wait to meet your baby!!

I had heard the buzz about Ryan coming back to the Sarnia area for the month leading up to his first bridal show here. I had heard he had just come back from Toronto, and the Middle East, having done fabulous weddings in big cities for the last four years. I was eager to meet him, and was pleased that the hype did not disappoint.

Ryan draped out an entire area at the Hiawatha show in February, and his booth was amazing. I introduced myself, and we hit it off. I can’t help gushing a little bit when I find something really special, and Ryan’s creativity and vision are worth gushing about…

I was thrilled when Ryan asked me to create place cards, menus and table numbers for his latest show in London. It was an opportunity for me to get some design time in with letterpress, and I always consider it a privilege when a local vendor trusts me enough to do projects for them. Ryan’s booth was like nothing else at the show, and I am sure London brides were thrilled with the fresh, glam and bold ideas that he wowed them with.

Ryan is going to take South Western Ontario by storm with his impeccable taste, unique ideas, and fresh perspective on how a wedding could look. He is easy to work with, and puts 110% into everything he does.  I trust you’ll enjoy working with him as much as I do!!

You can find Ryan online and on facebook

Leah and Duncan are an incredibly sweet couple, and clearly adore each other.  Leah laughs easily, smiles often, and was a really easy-going client to work with.  She gave me free reign with her programs, which made them a lot of fun to design.  I love, love clients that trust me implicitly.

Her e-shoot pictures, taken by Jer Wilcocks, were amazing, and they were incorporated into her table numbers, and seating chart….

Congratulations Leah and Duncan!
